What is Polylith Synthetic Paper?
Polylith is a polymer-based material that prints like paper but leverages the best properties of plastic. It is far stronger than conventional paper and the extensive selection of grades, gauges, finishes make Polylith a serious consideration for almost any application.
How does Polylith print?
Polylith products can be printed by flexography, offset, gravure, letterpress, screen and thermal transfer methods. When coated it can be printed by ink jet, laser & direct thermal processes. For best practices, take a look at our printing tips.
Does Polylith require any special inks?
Generally, standard paper inks work well due to the matte finish and print receptive coatings. Grades with gloss finishes may require special higher solids inks which are readily available from all ink suppliers.
Do we need to learn any special finishing techniques?
Nope, it can be processed by perforating, folding, scoring, sewing, punching, hot stamping and embossing. For best practices, take a look at our finishing tips.
Can we use Polylith for food contact?
Definitely, Polylith conforms with FDA and CONEG.
How does Polylith handle outdoor applications?
Extremely well. Check out our UV resistant Polylith grades that are great for outdoor use.

Does Polylith comin in both sheet and roll form?
Yes, we have both slitting and sheeting capabilities.
Can I coat Polylith in-line?
Yes. Polylith top-coated synthetic papers can be readily aqueous coated in-line. However, for non top-coated grades as with all non-absorptive substrates, aqueous in-line coating is not recommended unless press is properly set-up for effective ink drying.
Is Polylith environmentally safe?
Absolutely. Environmental concerns are extremely important to us and Polylith is one of the most environmentally-viable synthetic papers available today.
